History

In 1925, a stamp pad needed to be inked each time it was used. The Mannen stamp pad introduced continuous stamping without replenishing the ink. This was a groundbreaking product but was not promptly accepted by the public. The company then decided to give the stamp pads away as gifts to the police, local government offices, banks, and other public institutions. Their use verified the effectiveness of the new product, and sales took off.

In 1941, this company was reorganized, and Shachihata Kogyo Co., Ltd. was established.

In 1965, the revolutionary Xstamper® was born. During R & D tests and numerous experiments, the addition of salt into an experimental rubber compound resulted in the development of cellular rubber for the most durable pre-inked stamps ever made. This proprietary rubber was the cornerstone of the development of the Xstamper. The Xstamper was the world’s first pre-inked stamp and has remained an industry leader for over 50 years. Through the years, Shachihata has refined and perfected the Xstamper. In 2018, the Xstamper was named the World’s Greatest Rubber Stamp by the World’s Greatest television series.

From a humble beginning with only three permanent markers in 1964, the Artline product line has continued to grow year over year, as has its loyal customer base. Shachihata is manufacturing products under strict Global regulations of chemical substances from the planning of material composition to the shipping. We are also a Green Partner with some electronic and electrical equipment manufacturers.

Shachihata Inc. works to protect the security of your information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information you input.

We will never display or reveal the entire card number when confirming an order once you enter a credit card number. We will only display the last five digits of the card preceded by asterisks. After the credit card company approves the order, it is secure within our server as it is not used in the order fulfillment process.
